‘IEC61850 PROTECTA Relay’ installed in PEA SCPS14 Chachoengsao substation
PEA Chachoengsao substation is finished installing protection relay devices from PROTECTA in Substation Control and Protection System (SCPS) 14 substations project. The PROTECTA relays which are distributed by ECTI consists of the Europrot+ model DTIVA-E3 and DVEZ.
The communication in the substation is upgraded to be IEC 61850 which is more convenient. The final test for a system at Chachoengsao substation and the connection between substation and control center at PEA head office is successful.

Directors and Deputy Directors from PEA which include the committee from PEA SCPS 14 substations project visited PROTECTA company and factory in Budapest, Hungary to inspect the production process of PROTECTA’s protective devices (OEM) between 26th February to 2nd March 2020.
PROTECTA started by introducing the development of protection relay products which were launched since 1950 (more than 70 years of innovation) and presenting the company profile. After that, PEA team observed the production process of protective relay and visit the facilities in PROTECTA company which consisted of departments such as manufacturing, application & support, and R&D so they can know about the manufacturing and testing method, quality control for each process, product development, after-sales service and etc. Furthermore, the OEM team was taken to the relay card factory which produces the PROTECTA relay cards to inspect the card manufacturing process very closely.
This factory visit contributes PEA to be strongly confident in the quality of PROTECTA products.

PEA engineering staff have traveled to PROTECTA company in Budapest, Hungary between 23rd February to 10th March 2020 to be trained for the protective relay skill which will be applied for PEA SCPS 14 substations project in Thailand.
PROTECTA has arranged the training (OJT) for protective relay to PEA engineering staff which composed of presenting about protection relay, showing the working devices, components, and connection. They have learned how to use relay software (EUROCAP), web browser, function mapping, and SCADA system interface. Moreover, PROTECTA has explained the details for each function scheme of the relay and welcomed all questions during the training period.
By supporting from ECTI with the training, the OJT team has learned both theoretical and practical experience which create clear understanding and satisfaction towards PROTECTA’s products.
